Cost & Pricing
How Much Does a Vehicle Wrap Cost?
It depends on the vehicle, the coverage (full, partial or decals) and whether you need design work. Use our wrap cost estimator for a ballpark by vehicle type, then send photos and dimensions for an exact estimate within 24 hours.
How Much Does a Fleet Wrap Cost?
Pricing depends on vehicle type, coverage (full, partial or decals), the number of vehicles and whether design work is needed. Fleet jobs with multiple vehicles typically qualify for volume pricing, and one design file is reused across every unit. Run the wrap cost estimator for a per-vehicle ballpark, then send us the vehicle list and we'll price the whole program in one estimate.
How Much for a Wall Wrap?
Wall wraps are priced per square foot and depend on the surface, prep and finish. Custom murals with design work are scoped separately. Send a photo and rough dimensions for an estimate; a site visit is included on larger wall projects.
Are Quotes Binding?
Yes. Once we quote, that's the price, assuming scope doesn't change. We'll never come back mid-project asking for more money on an issue we should've scoped.
Do You Offer Financing?
Yes. Investing in a fleet wrap program is a significant decision, and we never want budget to be the reason you don't get your brand on the road. CLVGo, our financing program, offers flexible plans with funding in as little as 48 hours. Ask your Account Executive or see the Financing page.
When Is Payment Due, and What Do You Accept?
A deposit is required to begin the design process. Final payment is due before your vehicle is released or before the wrap ships to an offsite installer. We accept check, ACH bank transfer and major credit cards (card payments may carry a processing fee). Your Account Executive sends invoices through our billing system, and a final itemized invoice closes every job.
Getting Started (Fleet Process)
How Do I Get Started With a Fleet Wrap?
Request an estimate or call 631-464-4526. A dedicated CL Visual Account Executive introduces themselves and stays with you from kickoff to delivery, so you work with one person, not a queue. For fleets, we'll set you up in IDMyFleet so vehicle details, estimates and progress live in one place.
What Information Do I Need to Provide Upfront?
Year, make and model of each vehicle; how many vehicles you want wrapped; any brand guidelines or logo files you have; and the contact who'll coordinate on your end. If your branding isn't fully developed, we can help with that too.
Do I Need to Have a Design Ready?
No. Most clients come with a logo and a general direction, and our design team builds the wrap concept from there. If you already have print-ready files, we'll review them against our production specs.
Can I Bring My Own Design Files?
Absolutely. We'll review your files for print-readiness and color profile before quoting production. If revisions are needed, we charge an hourly prep rate or quote a small redesign.
What File Format Do You Need?
Print-ready PDF preferred: vector over raster, CMYK, fonts outlined, 1/8" bleed, 300 DPI for embedded raster. AI, PSD and INDD also accepted.
Do You Design, or Just Install?
Both. Our design studio works side by side with production, so no file gets reopened in three programs. Our own crew installs locally, and certified partner installers handle jobs farther away.
Design & Approval
How Does the Design Process Work?
Our design team creates a custom wrap concept around your brand — or, if you already work with a design agency such as KickCharge Creative, we'll work from their files. You receive a digital proof showing exactly how the design sits on your vehicle, request revisions until you're happy, and nothing goes to print until you give final written approval.
How Many Revisions Are Included?
Your estimate includes a standard number of design revision rounds. Additional rounds beyond that may be billed separately; your designer will tell you where you stand throughout the process so there are no surprises.
What Is a Color Proof and Do I Need One?
A color proof is a physical printed sample of your wrap on the actual vinyl, so you see real color, finish and texture rather than a screen. We recommend it for new clients and any job with custom brand colors; your Account Executive will advise.
Can You Color-Match Pantone?
Within the CMYK gamut, yes, to a Delta-E under 2 in nearly every case. True out-of-gamut Pantones we flag at quote and propose the closest alternative.
Can I Make Changes After I Approve the Design?
Once you give final written approval and the job moves to production, changes are difficult and may mean reprint costs. Review proofs carefully. If something must change after approval, contact your Account Executive immediately; the sooner, the better.
Production & Timeline
How Long Does a Vehicle Wrap Take From Kickoff to Install?
Timelines vary by job size, but here is the general guide: design and approval 1–3 weeks depending on revisions; production (printing, laminating, cutting) 3–5 business days after final approval; shipping to an installer 2–5 business days; installation 2–4 days per vehicle depending on type and coverage. Rush timelines are available for an additional fee.
What Causes Delays?
Late proof approvals, outstanding payments, incomplete vehicle information and installer scheduling conflicts. The fastest jobs are the ones where clients respond quickly to proofs. Your Account Executive flags anything that could move your date.
What Do You Need From Me Before Production Can Start?
Final written approval on the digital proof, payment confirmed per your agreement, complete vehicle information for every unit, and a confirmed install date or shipping address. Missing any of these puts the job on hold.
Do You Offer Rush Turnarounds?
Yes, for production. Design timelines are harder to compress without sacrificing quality. We'll tell you what's possible and what we won't cut corners on.
Do You Print One-Offs or Just Runs?
Both. Wide-format is digital, so there's no plate cost. A run of one and a run of fifty cost the same per square foot.
Do You Laminate?
Most outdoor and high-touch prints get a UV laminate by default. Indoor short-term prints can skip it. We'll spec the right combination at quote.
Installation
Who Installs the Wraps?
For local jobs, our in-house installation team handles your vehicles at our Copiague, NY facility. For clients outside our area, we coordinate a network of vetted professional installers across the country; your Account Executive selects the installer, handles all coordination and confirms the install date with you in advance. If you have a covered, well-lit space at your own facility, let us know upfront; on-site install can simplify logistics and get your fleet back on the road faster.
How Do I Prepare My Vehicles for Installation?
Clean, dry and free of wax or polish before drop-off or installer arrival. Remove personal items. Disclose any damage, dents or rust; these affect how vinyl adheres. Existing wraps, decals or adhesive residue can be removed for an additional fee; ask to include removal in your estimate.
How Long Does Installation Take per Vehicle?
Installation time depends on the vehicle type and coverage. A standard cargo van full wrap typically takes one full day; larger vehicles and full-coverage jobs take 2–4 days. Partial wraps and decal packages are faster. Your Account Executive gives you a specific timeline for your vehicles.
Can I Be Present During Installation?
Yes, for in-house installs you're welcome to check in. Please schedule a specific pickup time rather than arriving unannounced so your vehicle is ready and fully inspected before handoff.
What If Something Doesn't Look Right After Installation?
Every vehicle gets a quality check before it leaves our facility or before the installer closes the job. If you notice an issue after pickup, send photos to your Account Executive right away. We stand behind our work and will make it right.
Do You Remove Existing Wraps or Adhesive Before Installing?
Yes, as an additional service. A clean, residue-free surface is essential for adhesion and a long-lasting result. We assess each vehicle and price removal based on scope.
How Is a Wrap Removed?
Heat and patience. A trained tech can remove a passenger vehicle in 4–6 hours, leaving paint clean. Removal is quoted per vehicle; ask when you book.
Do You Handle Install on Banners and Signage?
Yes, interior and exterior through our signage division. Local to the tri-state; national through our partner network for trade shows and multi-location rollouts.
Compliance
Do I Need DOT or USDOT Numbers on My Wrapped Vehicles?
Depending on vehicle type, weight class and the states you operate in, you may be legally required to display DOT, USDOT or MC numbers, company name and other regulatory lettering. We'll incorporate required lettering into the design, but compliance is the vehicle owner's responsibility. When in doubt, check with your state DOT or a transportation compliance advisor before the vehicles go on the road.
Do You Wrap Leased Vehicles?
All the time. Most lease agreements allow vinyl wraps because they protect the paint. Confirm with your leasing company in writing if you're unsure.
Care & Longevity
How Long Does a Vehicle Wrap Last?
With proper care, a professionally installed cast vinyl wrap typically lasts 4–7 years. Longevity depends on how the vehicle is stored (covered or garaged vehicles last longer), the climate (intense sun and heat accelerate fade), how it is washed (hand washing is best; avoid brush washes) and whether a protective overlaminate was applied.
How Should I Care for My Wrapped Vehicles?
Hand wash or touchless car wash only; no brush washes. Mild soap and water; no petroleum-based cleaners. Light pressure-wash from two feet with a 40° fan tip, never directly on edges or seams. Park in shade when possible. Report any lifting edge to your Account Executive promptly. We hand out a care card with every install.
Can I Wax a Wrapped Vehicle?
No traditional wax; most contain solvents that haze vinyl. Use a dedicated vinyl-safe sealant; brands are listed on the care card.
Will a Wrap Damage My Paint?
No. Vinyl protects factory paint from UV, road grit and minor abrasion. Repainted or oxidized paint may lift; we inspect every vehicle before quoting.
What If a Panel Gets Damaged?
Wraps can be repaired panel by panel without redoing the entire vehicle. If a vehicle is damaged in an accident or by vandalism, contact your Account Executive; we'll assess the damage, quote the repair and match the existing design as closely as possible. A wrap protection plan can save you significant cost here; ask your Account Executive about coverage options.
Is the Wrap Warrantied?
Yes: manufacturer warranty on materials through our 3M MCS certification, plus CL Visual's installation warranty against lifting, peeling and bubbling on properly cared-for vehicles. Your Account Executive can share the exact terms for your job.
Do Graphics Fade?
Properly laminated cast film resists fade for years outdoors. Reds and oranges shift first; we choose ink and lamination specs to push that out.
Can You Wrap Matte, Satin or Chrome Finishes?
Yes. We stock 3M, Avery and KPMF in matte, satin, gloss, chrome, brushed metal, color-shift and texture finishes.
