Vehicle Wrap Care & Cleaning Guide
Simple habits that keep your wrap looking new for years.
How to Wash a Wrapped Vehicle
Automated Touchless Washes
The easiest way to regularly maintain your vehicle's graphics. An automatic car wash that uses brushes is not recommended as they may scratch or cause the wrap's edge to lift and create weak spots. Touchless washes are great for regular maintenance, but a deeper and longer lasting clean can be achieved by hand.
DIY Washes & Hand Washing
The preferred cleaning method for your wrap. Using the two bucket method, rinse the wrap with clean water to remove as much dirt and grit as possible. Soak difficult contaminants like bug splatter, bird droppings, and tree sap in hot, soapy water for a few minutes. Use a wet, non-abrasive, car cleaning detergent and a soft cloth or sponge to gently wash the vehicle. Re-rinse and dry thoroughly. After rinsing thoroughly with clean water, minimize water spotting by promptly using a silicone squeegee to eliminate excess water, then complete the process by drying with a fresh microfiber cloth.
Extra Credit
To help extend your graphics lifespan, you can apply a ceramic detailing spray or wrap-friendly wax to the vehicle after deep cleans to protect it. If you don't have time for the entire vehicle, a quick application to horizontal areas will help minimize damage. Avoid dragging cloths against decals and wrapped edges. Using de-ionized water available at some stations will help reduce water spotting and decrease dry time.
Important Information
- No pressure washers. Only use wrap-friendly detailers and waxes.
- Avoid products that will gloss matte finishes or have harsh chemicals.
- Regularly wash the vehicle, preferably at least once every two weeks with deeper maintenance washes as needed.
